It’s been great weather for growing stuff! So nice to have the windows open too.

I’ll be at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market tomorrow til around 11, depending on how busy it is.

I have curly kale, red Russian kale, a little spinach and beet greens, chard, the last of the leeks, and sweet potatoes.

Lettuce is on deck in a couple weeks (dep on weather), then beets and carrots. I hope I planted orange carrots this time…I love the purple carrots, but purple soup is just not appealing.

We are still doing 20% off all of these cuts tomorrow:  our 100% grass fed & grass finished, Animal Welfare Approved Angus stew beef, cube steak, ribeyes, brisket (8 lb size and 3 lb size), shoulder roast, rump roasts, sirloin tip roast, eye of round roasts, and liver.

We are all stocked up on beef cuts, and also have short ribs, osso bucco, NY Strip, sirloin steak, filets, flank, skirt, and flat iron steaks, boneless chuck roast, plus our beer brats, andouille sausage, hot dogs (skinny and quarter pounder), sliced corned beef, and sliced pastrami made from our 100% grass fed Angus beef, no added nitrates or nitrites.

Ground beef special – Buy 5, Get 1 free.

Bulk pricing on our beef: quarters, halves and wholes – $3.50 lb hang weight plus the cost of processing.

I haven’t been cooking much so I don’t have any new recipes to post. Mostly living off this most favorite ever kale salad with the curly kale – so good- these Honey and Herb Roasted Root Veggies (sans all the veggies except only sweet potatoes, garlic and onions haha) and fresh spring rolls , with the cabbages and carrots I’ve got hoarded away.

It’s actually not going to be freezing tomorrow, I hope to see you there 🙂

Market Stuff for February 17.

Yikes, looking a little dry in this photo. Somebody needs to take care of that. I love how the seed it attached to the top 🙂

I’ll be at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market tomorrow until 10 or 11, depending on how busy it is.

I have a few greens, some leeks and sweet potatoes.

Well, spring is in the air, right??  A couple weeks ago I notice the frogs had thawed out, when I was outside at 3am and I heard them going bonkers. Why was I loitering outside at 3am? Hmmmmm. Mysterious.

Then that same week I noticed the horses were starting to shed their winter coats, and the last but WAY more important sign that spring is approaching quickly is that I was surprised to find I have a tan and my hair has new blond highlights. Just as I was asking myself in the mirror, GAH! Can it get any mousier??! 🙂

I hope to see you guys tomorrow!!

An unplanned day at the market, and and unexpected sale on beef!

I know I said I wasn’t coming this week – so undependable lately!! But our horseback riding adventures for this weekend are rained out so I’m coming to the market. And we need to sell some beef since I’ve only been to one market this year.

I’ll be at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market tomorrow until 10 or 11, depending on how busy it is.

And since I’ve only been to 1 market this year, Shane wants to have a special to move out some beef. We are low on cuts and have a big order coming back from the processor next week, so he wants to do 20% off – see below!

I should have some greens but I’m not sure what yet and it won’t be much, also sweet potatoes and leeks. I just wanted to get this market update out early. I’m also not sure if I’m coming next Saturday…but starting in March it should be warming up enough to have veggies every weekend.

We are doing 20% off all of these cuts tomorrow:

our 100% grass fed & grass finished, Animal Welfare Approved Angus stew beef, philly steak, cube steak, ribeyes, NY Strip, sirloin steak, skirt, brisket (8 lb size and 3 lb size), shoulder roast, sirloin tip roast, eye of round roasts, liver.

The special won’t apply to the following:

Beer brats, andouille sausage, hot dogs (skinny and quarter pounder), sliced corned beef, sliced pastrami and sliced bologna made from our 100% grass fed Angus beef, no added nitrates or nitrites.

Ground beef special – Buy 5, Get 1 free.

Bulk pricing on our beef: quarters, halves and wholes – $3.50 lb hang weight plus the cost of processing.

My view from the ground 🙂

I’ve got the greenhouse full of onions, herbs, early hoophouse tomatoes. The top photo is just onions in the soil blocks – don’t they look like brownies? SPECIAL BROWNIES. So being in there all the time I was really craving brownies 🙂 and I found this awesome recipe, that I made and ate the whole batch watching the Superbowl –

4 Ingredient Sweet Potato Brownies: sweet potato, almond butter, cocoa powder and maple syrup. And then I was jacked up on the caffeine all night from the cocoa powder. Worth it!

I hope to see you guys tomorrow <3
